Hunger Free Golden Community Collaborative

Hunger Free Golden is a community collaborative with a common focus of identifying and addressing the challenges many members of our community face in providing for their food needs. The City of Golden is a participating organization in this effort with other local non-profits and stakeholders.

Hunger Free Golden is a community collaborative with a common focus of identifying and addressing the challenges many members of our community face in providing for their food needs. Participating organizations include the following with open doors to any other community stakeholders or residents interested in contributing to food security in Golden:

  • Golden Backpack Program
  • GoFarm – Golden Farming Cooperative
  • City of Golden
  • Golden area schools
  • Together Church of Golden
  • Jeffco Public Health - Food Policy Council
  • Hunger Free Colorado
  • Centura Health

Hunger Free Golden meets the second Monday of each month at 10am at the Public Works and Planning

    On February 20, 2018, the Hunger Free Golden Community Collaborative hosted a community conversation to encourage engaged community members to work together and come up with ideas and potential solutions to reduce barriers to food which would ultimately influence future priorities of the Hunger Free Golden Community Collaborative.

    Along with sharing experiences around access to healthy food, an important question was asked of event participants:

    "How can we increase access to a sufficient amount of healthy and fresh food for all members of our community?"
