West Downtown Plan

In February of 2020, the Planning Commission formally adopted the West Downtown Plan. Upon adoption the Planning Commission provided minor updates to staff to include in the plan prior to Council's review. These comments were incorporated into a new draft that is now available (see link below). The document will be reviewed by City Council on May 21st at a regularly scheduled study session. That meeting will be held prior to a future public hearing to formally accept the plan as an extension of the City's Comprehensive Plan.

Throughout the fall of 2018 and the spring of 2019, the City of Golden Planning Division conducted extensive community outreach to gather feedback on topics related to West Downtown. Programs such as surveys on Guiding Golden, outreach at the farmers market, and attendance at other municipal events were administered. The goal of the outreach campaign was to determine how the City of Golden should approach, commercial and residential development, parking, housing, infrastructure, and historic significance of the neighborhood in the future.
