Welcome to the Golden Parks & Recreation Master Plan & Open Space Master Plan project page.

June 5, 2025 Project Update

Project Overview

The City of Golden Parks & Recreation Master Plan and Open Space Master Plan Phase Two will guide the future management and development of parks, recreation facilities, and open spaces in Golden. These plans focus on addressing community needs, protecting natural areas, and ensuring access to recreational opportunities. Through analysis, stakeholder input, and community feedback, the plans will provide a clear framework for maintaining and improving Golden’s parks, programs, and open spaces for years to come.

We’ve completed the draft of the Open Space Master Plan (OSMP) Phase 2. The plan reflects months of data analysis, community input, and guidance from stakeholders and the working group. A public presentation and open house was held on June 3 at the Golden Community Center.

Next Steps:

  • June 21: Parks, Recreation, and Advisory Board (PRAB) will consider a motion to recommend adoption of the OSMP Phase 2 and forward the plan to City Council

  • July 8: City Council review and potential adoption of the OSMP Phase 2

Thank you for your continued interest and participation in shaping the future of our parks, recreation, and open spaces. Stay tuned for upcoming opportunities to review and provide input on the draft plan.
