Consultation has concluded

In celebration of Artsweek 2019, the Golden History Museum—in partnership with the Public Arts Commission—is commissioning a new mural for its building. Greetings Tour is a cross country mural project creating landmarks through public art. Using the classic large letter postcard style, they help revitalize communities with relatable imagery and bright colors. Muralist Victor Ving and photographer Lisa Beggs have been traveling full time out of their RV for 4 years since leaving NYC in 2015. The artist duo have completed a total of 34 murals in 18 different states, continuing a mission to paint in every state in the USA.

Before they create their mural, the Museum must submit to the artists a list of five iconic images that capture the spirit and essence of Golden. The Museum is seeking suggestions for subject matter to include in the mural. Make your suggestion here by April 26, 2019. For examples of murals completed for other communities, visit GreetingsTour.com.

A Mobile Mural

In anticipation that the History Museum might move, the mural will be painted on a removable substrate. The surface will be comprised of six 4’ x 8’ panels of Dibond (rigid aluminum) with a beveled wooden frame to be attached to the exterior wall. If and when the museum relocates, the panels and frame can be easily reinstalled in a new location.
